Tropical Drone Photos Offer a Fresh Take on Wedding Photography

It’s difficult to discover something fresh in a market as saturated as wedding photography, but Tahiti-based photographer Helene Havard has. Using drones, she captures a fresh, stunning take on couple photography that you probably haven’t seen before.

Havard captures weddings throughout the islands of French Polynesia, and while she has mastered the more standard wedding shots like this, the ace up her sleeve is her drone photography.

She’s teamed up with drone operator Flying World Pictures to capture portraits that most wedding photogs haven’t yet begun to explore. And our favorite drone photos from her archive all have her couples lying on the ground or floating in crystal clear waters—two tiny specs, seemingly the only 2 people in a tropical world:

“I have always needed lot of freedom,” she told Feature Shoot, and drone photography offers her that freedom.

Whether she’s capturing images of her couples lying on the ground from above, or more traditional aerial shots like the three below, these drone photos will make an (at least for now) very different addition to these couples’ wedding albums.
