Self-Taught Photographer Takes “Eyescape” Photography Of Weddings Reflected In The Eyes Of Guests

Published 8 years ago

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; for this wedding photographer, the saying is a little too literal. Peter Adams-Shawn takes unique wedding photos by capturing the reflections in the eye of the guests. This meticulous and unique method is called “Eyescapes.”

It might look unreal, but it’s the result of having a great camera (so no iPhone iScapes), the right angle, and wedding guests that don’t mind a photographer getting in their faces. Adams-Shawn says that people and even competitions have doubted him, but he always had raw pictures to prove his point. “One other secret – the best frames I’ve captured have had the subject smiling,” photographer said in an interview. “This relaxes the shot, brings natural creases in the eyes, and even this close, you can tell the subject is smiling.”
