As a young girl, the photographer Dianne Yudelson cherished viewing tintypes of her ancestors with her grandmother. It was her first exposure to the art of photography, and the inspiration behind her series “Antique Aviary,” a collection of bird portraits. While they appear to be tintypes, they are in fact digital photos that have been carefully painted to mimic the medium’s brooding aesthetic.
